Lello 4080 Musso Lussino
PROS:
- Makes incredible quality ice cream
- Built like a tank
- Compressor and paddle work separately
- Casing doesn’t stain
CONS:
- One Year Warranty
- Little bit Expensive
The Lello 4080 Musso Lussino an Italian home ice making machine, equipped the internal freezing system, could be the one and only solution for the dilemma. Over the course of 7 months of consistently using this machine combined with the production of soft serve ice cream to sell at 5 farmer markets, I have discovered that this machine makes great quality ice cream that is silky-smooth, dense and rich, and leaves me with the confidence that my customers will be delighted. It has the best capacity for 700 ml (0.74 quart) of this mix that would make about 0.95 quart of ice cream with approximately 29% air in the average time of 17 minutes 30 seconds. However, I got the impression there was space between the central pin and the plastic wall and so when I was stirring or cleaning the mix into my ice cream maker got trapped between the pin and the wall that is why I wished the device had got a bit more strong between the pin and the wall.
Ninja Creami Deluxe 11-in-1 Ice Cream Maker
PROS:
- This efficient
- Compact
- Easy to use
- Machine can turn just about anything into a delicious frozen dessert.
CONS:
- The motor and blade are so powerful that they can crush mix-ins and over-process sauce swirls.
- You also have to start the process 24 hours in advance.
Of all the ice cream makers we tested, the Ninja Creami Deluxe set the standard for simplicity, versatility, and delicious final products. Thanks to its 11 presets, this machine can whip up frozen treats of all textures from different ingredients, from standard ice cream to Frappuccino-style coffee drinks to non-dairy Italian ice. The machine works differently than most: First, you’ll pre-freeze the base mixture rather than just the bowl. Then, similarly to a powerful blender, the Ninja’s spinning blades break up ice crystals and whip in air to give the final product the right texture.

Whynter Automatic Compressor Ice Cream Maker
PROS:
- This machine gets you the convenience and versatility of a built-in compressor
- More reasonable price than similar models.
CONS:
- A lot of ice cream and sorbet stuck to the paddle in testing,
- It’s still expensive compared to non-compressor ice cream makers.
A compressor-based ice cream maker costs more than a canister-style, but it’s also a lot more versatile. This Whynter is a tiny freezer, able to turn room-temperature ingredients into frozen treats with a button. It features an automatic timer for freezing ice cream and sorbet, but it also doubles as a yogurt maker, with a gentle heating mode to maintain the optimal fermentation temperature.

Breville The Smart Scoop Ice Cream Maker
PROS:
- This convenient machine makes delicious, fully customizable ice creams and sorbets
- No pre-freezing needed.
CONS:
- It takes longer and costs a lot more than most other machines we tested.
With its built-in compressor and 12 hardness settings customized for different types of frozen treats, the Breville Smart Scoop is fully automatic. You don’t have to pre-freeze the bowl or ingredients; it chills and churns. We got great test results and were especially impressed with how gently and evenly it incorporated mix-ins. The ice cream and sorbet also stayed scoopable after a few hours of freezer storage, while other test batches got denser and harder.
